Students at the professional study level fail to understand some of the very core differences which exist between these and the other academic studies, which most of them have already gone through.
Group study in ACCA fosters a supportive environment where students can clarify concepts and reinforce understanding through discussions with fellow learners.
Normally at professional level you are expected to know the application of your study course rather than the knowledge aspect only, this is also reflected in how you are tested in the professional examination. In academics you are expected to give your whole effort to a learning process through a theoretical approach rather than a pragmatic (risk-seeking) approach, which is rather appreciated a lot whenever you are preparing for a Professional study such as ACCA, Fundamentals of Financial Accounting BA3 – SKANS ECampus
Group study in ACCA can significantly enhance learning outcomes through collaborative problem-solving and knowledge sharing among peers.
If you have ever seen a University Environment either if you had yourself been a part of one or if you saw one on some advertisement, it’s always the case that you are given a picture where a group of students are sitting together and studying, and also supposedly having a good time (I hope to be honest).
Can this same picture be portrayed for an Institution where you will study for your ACCA Qualification? Probably not – yes as simple as that. Why Choose SKANS ECampus? Major Benefits of Online Tuition
Why? It is because if you’d be portraying that picture by sitting in a group and having a fun time, chances are that you are not going to be having an enjoyable time after or on your result – if you do get the joke.
Brainstorming is a very fancy word we see often but do you actually know what it means?
Let’s see what our friend Google has to say about it?
Unfortunately Google was not kind enough to explain itself but on Searching it instead guided us to another mutual friend ‘Wikipedia’.
‘Brainstorming is a group creativity technique by which efforts are made to find a conclusion for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its members’. – Wikipedia (Source)
By the looks of it, it seems like a great idea to brainstorm in order to become better at learning a certain course be it ACCA or else. However the fact that the contributors of ideas are also
students SKANS Ecampus which are most likely to be studying alongside you chances are that you will fall out of track lest one of the members gets deviated from the right path.
In Professional Studies you are encouraged to be creative but the important part of the first sentence in this line was ‘You’ (yes read again). If you are group studying then chances are that you might get behind and not actually go through the pain of putting your own head at work to accomplish the task which some of your study members might not have any difficulty coming on to. This will ensure that your brain never gets trained enough to think on its own rather rely on ideas brought forward by someone else.
Before reading this you might have questions as to why some people go further in their careers than their counterparts who studied from the same institutions or tutors, it is because of this very fact that differentiates the leaders from the followers – and believe me you will find people who are happy in following others than trying to take the risk of becoming a leader and asked to let others follow them.
This process of being able to generate ideas from your own brain without any external help will make you a great choice for both your Boss and also the Examiner. These people who have put their hardworking heads on the board to make that examination want their bestest possible to check if the students have the ability to be creative with their ideas and apply their knowledge in places which they might not have directly come across until they sit in the examination room all tensed and worried in front of the paper.
I hope you understood the crux of this small piece of advice and try to think over it as to why you should not be studying in groups rather alone in a place where the only thing you can do is group study in ACCA, good places would include a Library or a Study place – whatever suits you.
What did you learn from this? Do you agree with this or not? Let us know, we would be kind enough to reply to your concerns.
Thank you.
